Important Changes to Hazardous Substances Labelling, SDS, and Packaging – Deadline Approaching 🚨
By 30 April 2025, importers, manufacturers, and suppliers of hazardous substances in New Zealand must fully comply with updated rules on labelling, safety data sheets (SDS), and packaging. These changes, introduced by the EPA in 2021, align with the 7th edition of the Globally Harmonised System (GHS7) and have been rolled out over a four-year transitional period.
What This Means for You:
- Importers and Manufacturers: All hazardous substances under your responsibility must meet the new labelling, SDS, and packaging requirements.
- Suppliers: Ensure any hazardous substances you supply comply with these updated notices by the April 2025 deadline.
- Stock-in-Trade: There is no extra grace period for stock-in-trade after the deadline.
